Drivetech, part of the AA, are a leading provider of driver assessment, training and educational schemes in the UK.

Who they are

Drivetech offer driver assessment and training services in over 95 countries across the globe. They are the largest provider of offender retraining courses in the UK, directly serving 12 UK police forces and indirectly supporting 34 UK forces through the National Driver Offender Retraining Scheme.

What we do

As part of Drivetech’s ‘DriveAware’ division, PTI Cymru support the Welsh language delivery of the ‘Your Belt Your Life’ course for offenders caught driving without wearing a seatbelt. The course is designed to encourage offenders to change their attitudes towards the use of seatbelts by examining the consequences of misuse for themselves and their passengers.

The course can be completed online or with the use of a handbook. PTI Cymru’s dedicated DDI line is open from 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and 8am-3pm Saturday and Sunday for customers using the handbook to ring and complete the course in Welsh.

All PTI Cymru’s friendly and professional Contact Centre agents are fluent Welsh speakers, ensuring an excellent delivery of service for Drivetech customers. Agents have also completed a NPPV (Non Police Personnel Vetting) Level 3 and have had a DBS check to comply with Drivetech’s requirements.

The agents adhere to Drivetech’s data protection policy at the start of each call to ensure the correct customer is being spoken to. Customers are then asked a series of multiple choice questions. Once completed, the agents read out feedback about the questions answered incorrectly and notify the customer if they have passed or failed the course.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, PTI Cymru undertook additional customer calls on behalf of Drivetech due to increased demand on their English call centre facilities. Further training was undertaken by the PTI Cymru team to ensure these calls were delivered to the highest possible standard.

“PTI Cymru provide us with first class welsh speakers, translations and IVR recordings. They offer a timely and professional service that plays a critical role in ensuring we deliver an excellent service in the Welsh language. DriveTech, Part of the AA, highly value our partnership with PTI Cymru and long may it continue.”
